MOS Burger - another review from the food blogger wannabe ^^

Intrigued by Ricky Gede's note about MOS Burger, I decided to gave it a try last Friday with my friend Dini.

Already warned by Sashimi that there would be quite a long Q, I expected nothing less. And yes, when I got there at precisely 12 noon, there was already a line forming in front of the registers. There were quite a lot of Japanese in the line, I guess they miss a taste of home. Behind me were this Japanese mom with her two little girls, who were so eager to get the burgers that they keep on counting from the line until they reached the register. By the time I got to the register, they were at 70, if I'm not mistaken ^^;;

Dini ordered Cheese Burger French Fries Set (Burger + Fries + Drink), while I ordered MOS Cheese Burger French Fries Set. Mine cost 38K, while Dini's was a little below it (between 30 - 35K, forgot the precise price), both about the same as one BK value meal. So, one might ask.. what is the difference between Cheese Burger and MOS Cheese Burger? The difference my friends, is in the special MOS sauce, so the waiter said. And what is this special MOS Sauce? It's actually bolognaise sauce, which I liked ^^ It doesn't taste too tomato-ish (if there is such a word), but it definitely added a different flavor to the burger, something you don't find at other burger restaurants. Ricky was right when he said the burger tastes healthy. In a way.. it did. The meat was juicy but not greasy, and it didn't make me feel bleneg at all. Usually I can't even finish a whopper junior because I would feel bleneg half way, but this I can finish without any bleneg feeling afterwards.. (OK, if anyone knows what the english word for bleneg is, please let me know, fast.) The buns also tasted different.. tasted fresh, like it was freshly baked every day.

Their menu is also quite various and unique, they have teriyaki burger, shrimp burger, and also rice burger.. you know, where they replaced the bread buns with rice? McDonald's Indo used to have one menu like that and it tasted terrible, so I didn't dare try it at MOS. But the waiter said that it's one of their highly recommended menu.. so maybe next time I'll give it a try, maybe.

One thing that was still lacking was the service, as what you can almost always expect from a newly opened place. The employees were still taking quite a long time to take orders and reconfirming it to the customers. It seemed the ones at the cashier register is still trying to understand the way to read the order form as it was different from the usual order form where you just have the names of the menu and put the quantity of your order next to it. It's hard to explain, you should see for yourself should you decide to give MOS Burger a try ^^;;

The bottom line, if you're a burger fan, or if you're a Japan freak like me and want to try all things Japanese.. do come to MOS Burger and give their special MOS sauce a try ^-^
