Blame It On The Rain

Remember the song? Sang by Milli Vanilli who was later discovered to be nothing more than two lip-sync artists. As I was one of their fans, I was quite heart broken at the time. I think they just debuted at the wrong era. I mean, if only they had waited 10 years to make their debut, when the industry have decided to accept artists with standard (or even below standard) vocals as long as they have good looks and nice apparels, everything would be just fine, no? They won't have to lip-sync, and they would not be depressed out of humiliation for being known as lip sync-ers (is there such a word?hmm...)

Anw. Back to the rain thing.
I've been blaming the rain a lot lately, for all sorts of things. Let's see if I can make a list:
1. Flood
2. Mellow-dramatic (feeling blue and all that crap)
3. Traffic Jam
4. Cancellation of kursus (who would want to go out with that kind of rain??)
5. Too much sleep that I woke up with a headache

I hope the rainy season would end soon. Who knows, maybe after almost half the world stopped praying for rain (it's chinese new year, remember? A LOT of people are praying for rain), it would stop.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Misery Loves Company

February 4, 2007

I actually don’t know if the saying above is implying a positive or negative tone.. Does it mean when you’re in misery you would love to have company? Or does it mean when you’re suffering, you would just love to see others suffer as well so it’d be less hurtful? Trying to live on the sunnier side of life, I chose alternative #1 ^^

So what is the best company that misery could have? I think, any normal girl/woman/not a girl not yet a women/whatever would agree with me.. that the best company would be your girlfriends, not others. Well, I guess to some extent it could be your gay friends.. but only because they are girlfriend material, haha =P

In the positive spirit that companionship lightens your burdens, my 3 other “problematic” friends and I have been hanging out FAR TOO OFTEN lately. We would hang out like almost every single day, so intensive that we’re starting to name the meetings: ““kursus””, because it almost felt like we were on an intensive course before the university exams, just like the old high school days.

Our favorite ““kursus”” spot was Loca! (@ Jl. Benda), because of the good food, the good coffee, and most importantly.. the FREE WI-FI x) There was this one week when we came there like 4-5 times.. after hours, on the weekends.. name it, we were there. It was not until after the waiter started to go on first name basis with me (Thanks to my BCA card which I almost always used there because of the special offerings), that we realized that we may have been going there too often, and we consciously reduced our visit frequency afterwards =P

Now don’t imagine that the ““kursus” sessions” are all about pouring our hearts out, we’re really (REALLY!!) not that pathetic.. sometimes it’s just sitting quietly with our notebooks, doing our own work and our own business, not even talking.. sometimes it’s just sharing hi’s and lo’s, and laughing at everyday stuff (occasionally interrupted by “curcol”-curhat colongan here and there), and of course there are times when it was really a RAC (Rescue and Curhat) mission.. hahaha..

Anyway.

One of the “kursus” members flew back to Norway today, where she’s taking her graduate school. Maybe after this the course wont be so intensive.. as she was one of the reasons the “kursus” was developed in the first place.=P But, since “kursus” was originally meant to make our burdens lighter, then I’m sure it wont end here.. Because life’s problems are sure to just keep coming, aren’t they? All we can do is just be prepared, and make sure to have “kursus” ready in case we can’t handle it alone :)

Misery may love company, but in my case.. it loves “kursus” even more… v(^^
