World Stealing Day

Almost a week ago, Ida sent me this sms:

"If today were World Stealing Day, what would you steal from me? Pse reply and send this to your friends as well, the answers could be quite amusing.. Give it a try!"

And so I did. After answering her first. What I would loove to steal from Ida, is her wit and talent in writing. Because I just love love love the way she writes. Witty, honest, and always amusing. In a way, she kinda reminds me of David Sedaris, one of my fave authors :P

I had wondered what people would answer to the sms.. and Ida was right, the answers were amusing. Some funny, some flattering, and some made me realize that maybe I've been over-established as Ms. Credit Cards.. hahaha.. xP Mbak Rima's answer was the most flattering, as she said she wanted to steal my writing style. Imagine that, the guru wants to steal my writing style.. that's just so damn cool! ^^

For the criminal mastermind award, I'd have to give it to Rendy, who plans to steal my credit card, car, and phone. When I told him he could only choose 1, this is what he said, "But Des, I need all three. I need your credit card so I can eat @ Izzi Pizza with 75% disc, your car so you can't chase me (plus I need the car to go to Izzi Pizza), and your phone so you cant call the bank and block the card". Tsktsktsk.. very well planned darling!

On another point, Tanya made me realize that I'd have to better guard my hair dryer if I were to go anywhere with her, since she plans to steal it just for the pleasure of seeing me getting freaked out not doing my hair properly (you have a Ms Hair Drama here, ladies and gentlemen!)

So, if today were still World Stealing Day, what would YOU steal from me?

1,000

OK. Tell me, quick.. what can you get with Rp. 1000? On the top of my mind.. a small pack of Taro (teteeupp), jasa parkir dari mas2 parkiran yang kadang2 juga nda ada membantu2nya, and all other small stuffs, because let's face it.. 1000 rups counts for almost nothing these days, correct? That's why it NEVER occured to me that 1000 rups can get you: 3 udang goreng mentega, 1 kepiting lada hitam, 1 cumi saus padang, 2 kerang saus tiram, 1 cumi goreng tepung, 2 ikan bakar, 3 portions of vegetables (not a big fan of veggies, so didnt bother to remember the menus =P), 5 ice teas, and 5 portions of rice. Impossible, you ask? Not at DCOST's Up To You programme it's not.. so the scheme is, every Monday in October, if you have a gold/platinum credit card from ANY bank, you can eat there and pay as much (or should I say, as little) as you like, no minimum charge. And it's just amazing how stingy people (read: Men) can be! I mean, I thought we were gonna give them at least 20,000 and it's already a very good bargain considering our bill was nearly 200K. But nooo... the male pride took over, and before you know it, 1000 was already written in the bill and printed in the receipt. Shaking your head in disbelief? Wait til you hear this.

A friend of mine (name not mentioned to avoid any form of violence towards the writer of this blog), had dinner with her whole big family at the same day. The bill was 750K. And her "up to you" price was...

...

...

7,500!!! Tsktsktsk... well, she should be thankful it was the last day of the promo. If not I'm sure they're gonna have her pic somewhere and blacklist her from visiting the restaurant sometime soon =P

Anw, I think it's a good marketing by Dcost, since now almost everyone I know are talking about the place and it's always so damn crowded! Havent been there? You should go and give it a try. The food's good, the place is OK, and the normal price is also very very reasonable, even without the Up To You price. It's at Kemang Raya, next to Coffee Bean. Who knows, they may have an even crazier promo by the time you go there =)
